Just a few minutes walk out from the center of Albir, there is still land... land untouched by the uncompromising hand of the so called "developing companies"... construction companies who - with the willing consent of politician - leave behind them a close to 100% plastered ground. The only green patches being a water gobbleing golf course, or a small lawn not to be stepped on.
However, in the close vicinity of Albir, the tranquility of small farms and orange orchards can be reached... as if they have escaped the greedy power of money and the hunger for profit.
Well... I guess that is a main reasons why I find Albir great... in addition to the sea and the impressive mountains that surround us.
To stroll along old unplastered narrow roads like the one on the picture, is to me... nearly like a move back in time... it feels good...
