The main street into the old town is nice and wide... when you count in the sidewalks that is... like most Spanish drivers seem to do.

However... down at the end, the sidewalkh as virtually disappeared... or at least...it is reduced to a virtual joke.

But!... that's part of what makes Finestrat, like most other old villages and towns in the backlands of Costa Blanca, soooo  charming.

Well, Finestrat was not built to accomodate cars, and if it hadn't been for the occational nitwit youngster - racing thru on his small motorbike without silencer - the barrow idyllic lanes would be perfect time machines. In fact, just a handful years ago, I saw a farmer trotting thru with his  sturdy little  burro. Great!
