"The Dune"

Once she was lush, tall and green.... a pine tree with gleaming dark needles... whispering in a gentle breeze from the Atlantic... trembling and screaming in the storms from the west.

That was more than a century ago... when she was young... before the dune of Arachon started to bury her alive... faster than she  was able to grow.

But look!... still clinging to her last dry and withered arm; three of her offsprings... though soon... they shall also be burried with her.
