It is not a corner that would win a first price in an architects competition, but once you have found this corner on you stroll thru Bolulla, you have found my favourite water hole in the village.

"
Bar La Era" offers nice tapas and good grub form mama's kitchen.

I have a bit of a problem with their artistic message on the wall oposite the entrance, but I'll post a translation one of these days.

Irene, who was born in Bollula, sent me the message found below.
Irene writes: My family is originally from Bolulla and I was happy to find your website as I was looking for pictures of Bolulla to use as my wallpaper. They are lovely and I really enjoyed seeing them. The poem written on the wall outside the Bar is a very old poem which speaks of the origins of Bolulla. It roughly translates to the following:

BOLULLA,
The Devil was carrying her away
on the end of a needle
and since she was so heavy
he left her at the bottom of a "barranc".

A "barranc" is the word they use to decribe a low lying terraced plot of land. You see Bolulla lies low in the valley with mountins all around because that is where the devil left her.
Well, thank you again for the lovely pictures, they bring back nice memories

Thanks a lot Irene!
