Bolulla Castellet
As if saying, -"There it is", the old dry and withered almond tree is hanging on at the side of the trail in its after life.
I haven't climbed up there yet... but I have promised myself to do it on my next Bolulla hike.
On the other hand... if you have seen one ruin... you have sort of seen them all... or?
Nah!... it is that other thing though... that one about reaching the peak... and to enjoy the grand panorama offered up there... 'cause those clever Moorish fellas did of course choose their peak for two main reasons. A good look-out position and a good defence position.
On the other hand, I have never fully understood the importance of these castels on the top of a bloody mountain.
I mean, with time on their hand. any attacker could just sit down around the mountain and starve out those up in the castellet, while feasting on Moorish goats, sheep and wine.
Or?
Sooner or later the water and food supply up there had to run out?... Or?... or have I missed out on something?
