What the reason is, why bee colonies have suddenly been dying out the last few years, is not fully understood. However, unless this potentionally ecological disaster can be prevented, mankind is indeed facing big trouble.
As seen here though, there seems to be no problems for the huckleberries up in the Extremaduras region of Spain, where the bees were busy as always, when we passed through in June of 2008.
